Final product-freebee 1
Final double page spread-guerilla stunt
This is my final double page spread. This product is to inform and make my target audience more aware of the health aspect. I think this product meets my audience's and client's wants and needs, and again overall I am pleased with this product.
Final double page spread-real life story

Monday, 11 April 2011

I have used the idea of the more magazine for my own magazine, and I think that the layout has worked quite well, and presents my magazine in a way that my target audience will understand and will find impressive and appelaing.
I haev used a number of layers on this product in order to create the effect of 3D and prevent it from looking very flat. I think that this is more attractive because it gives the product depth and makes it look different and interesting.
Overall I am pleased with the the outcome and result of this product. I think that it meets my client's and audience's needs and will be successful if published.

My focus group said that they really liked the blue band at the bottom of the page, using the NHS blue, as it brings the colours together and highlights the two main services. My client was the one to suggest moving the text 'Don't put on a brave face. Talk to the School Nurse Team.' underneath the bottom of the title and as one line as it gets straight to the point and immediately advertises the service. He also said that it shows that I am not scared to leave areas blank in the poster, and by doing this it makes my target audience straight away focus on the main elements of the product.

The improvements I will be making to this product will include changing the text at the bottom of the page because I think it needs to be shorter and clearer, to make the point I am trying to get across more obvious. I will also desaturate the colours again and rearrange the text, making the title slightly bigger and possibly movign the links to the bottom of the page next to their logos.
This image (left) shows a screen dump of the first few stages of my magazine front cover. At this stage I had added the image, the blue column and an additional white shape on top of the column to build up the layers.
The image (right) shows a screen dump of my work a few stages on from the one above. At this stage I had cut around the arm of the model and placed it on top of the white shape in order to create a 3D effect and build on the layers. I had also included the title 'health weekly', creating it as two different layers in order to use the two different colours and merging it into a smart object. I included the logo I had made for the school nurse team, along witht eh NHS logo, placing them both in the bottom right hand corner. I added the images down the left hand side of the page, using a stroke to make them stand out. I also added the webiste under the title in order for the audience to contact the services in an indirect way.

Deadline
I handed in the following products on the 11th March, some of which are not completely finished, however this shows I am up to date and on track to meeting the date of my focus group which 18th March. On this day I will have finished all of my products and I will print them out in colour and present them to my target audience via a focus group. This will hopefully help me to make any positive changes as the aim of the focus group is to receive honest feedback which will improve my products and keep them 100% suited to my target audience.

Comparing external photographs
Below show to photographs taken from my external photoshoot. The one on the left is an example of an image I will not use. The reason for this is that the angle of the shot is incorrect, as well as the expressions of the models. There are a couple of shots where my models are not in character/not looking into the camera. The image on the right is the one I have chosen to use as evidence of guerilla marketing within my campaign. I have chosen this image due to the angle of the shot, postitioning of the models and their facial expressions. This shot is exactly what I was hoping for.

Recce for external shoot
This document is a pre-filming visit to the location where I am conducting my photo shoot. The purpose of this is to decide the suitability of my chosen area based on my idea, my target audience needs and my client's brief. As you can see I have included images of the location of my external shoot, along with a diagram of the sunset and sunrise direction. The reason behind this was to understand where to position my models in order to gain the best possible outcome. I think this document was successful and helpful to me as I now ahve more of an idea of how the sun will affect my shoot, as I am relying on natural light. As well as this I am now considering adding materials such as picnic blankets for the health and saftey of my models.

Schedule
The document above is my schedule for the pre-production, production and post-production of my project. In order to meet my final deadline I should meet each deadline I have set for myself weekly. Each week I will create a video blog discussing whether or not I have been successful with this. I will be truthful and honest, as if I have not completed my work I am at my own disadvantage and will have to play catch-up on my own personalised schedule plan. Creating this document has been helpful as it has made my deadlines more visual and given me an idea of the time limit I have to complete each piece of work.
